My History & Education

I was born in a family famous for education and philanthropy. I pursued UG medical sciences [MBBS] from the renowned King George Medical College, Andhra Pradesh with excellence in academics.

After finishing graduation I pursued PG (MS) from the prestigious JIPMER Institute. My dream of being an expert of aesthetic surgery, lead me ahead, in 1989 I joined the famous Madras Medical College for Mch in Plastic Surgery.

My Career

I joined as a specialist plastic surgeon at the Bokaro Medical Hospital, as a specialist in the burns unit. Later, settled at Calcutta as a plastic surgeon at Peerless and Ruby hospital. In 2006 I joined government service at R G Kar medical college and hospital where I am now a professor of plastic surgery. My primary skillsets are burns reconstruction, post burn deformities, congenital defects, maxillofacial surgery and cosmetic surgery.

While reconstructive surgery aims to reconstruct a part of the body or improve its functioning, cosmetic (or aesthetic) surgery aims at improving the appearance of it.

The Department provides comprehensive treatment for all types of plastic and cosmetic procedures. It has evolved as one of the finest disciplines routinely performing complex surgeries. The strength of the department apart from well-trained doctors lies in the teamwork along with protocol based patient care. Our efforts have made us one of the most sought after centers for plastic surgery treatments in Eastern India.
